Kodanad Elephant Training Centre & Elephant Ride
7.30 a.m. Dep. from Ecogreen :- Kodanad elephant training center is a peaceful spot among forest-like environs. It is 33 Kms from Ecogreen homestay. Visit to Kodanad Elephant Training Centre, to see the morning bathing of elephants in the river (time between 7.30 and 9.00 ). Entry Fee: Rs. 3 per person. There is also possibility of an elephant ride Rs. 200

Kalady Adi Shankara Shrine
10.30 a.m. :- Visit Sringeri Matt - birth place of Adi Sankara, (AD 788 - 820) the great advaitha philosopher. This place also welcomes people from any religion / country. There is a lamp (ever lastingly lit) in the temple. There is a Veda Paadhasaala (Vedic recital school) adjacent to the Matt.

Athirapilly Water Falls - 30 Kms

Charppa Falls - 33 Kms

50 Elephants Punnathoor Kotta - 52 Kms
Offerings of Sree Krishna Temple Guruvayoor, 50 Elephants are groomed at the Punnathoor Kotta (Kotta means fort). Many elephants are brought as ritual offering to the temple. You can spend a whole day with these huge mammals here. Watching the naughty baby elephants, playful antics is an interesting experience. The place provides you an opportunity to watch how the sick elephants are medically treated in the traditional manner. One can also watch the training given to the elephants for various ritualistic performances. Remember you are in the land where people worship the elephants- faced God Lord Ganapathy. Grooming elephants are considered as status symbol.

Sree Krishna Temple, Guruvayoor -55 Kms
Dwaraka of the South, It is one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in South India. It is said to have been worshiped by Lord Brahma himself at Dwaraka.

Chimmini Wildlife Sanctuary - 35 Kms

The dense tropical forests of Chimmini shelter diverse flora and fauna. The dam across the Chimmini river offers a breathtaking view. This picturesque picnic spot is a favourite hunt of the people of Kerala. The Chimmini Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1984 and lies contiguous with the Peechi - Vazhani sanctuary. The Sanctuary is endowed with scenic beauty beyond comparison. Living here in joyful abandon are elephants sambars, gaurs, malabar squirrels, sloth, bears etc.

Archilogical Musium Thrissur - 27 Kms
Situated in Kollengode Palace an architectural delight. The majestic building houses a gallery of murals from all over Kerala and preserves a rare treasure of Veerakallu, temple models, olagrandhangal, megaliths etc. Veerakallu or hero stones are stone engravings and sculptures of figures and weapons belonging to the heroes of days gone by. Most of these were recovered form the forests of Wayanad and Thrissur. The megalith collection includes earthen pots, urns etc. The temple model cast in plaster of pairs are excellent representation of the ancient temples in the State.

Shakthan Palace Thrissur - A date with HISTORY
At the Shakthan Thampuran place one can come across several interesting aspects of the erstwhile rules of Kochi. The Shakthan Palace, which was recently renovated by the Sate Archaeology Department, houses a good museum.

Vadakkumnadan Tample- World Famous Pooram Venue
Thrissur Pooram - god's own extravaganza
is a cultural highlight par excellence celebrated in the month of April / May. The two century old festival involves spectacular procession of caparisoned elephants and enthralling percussion performance in a never -ending succession. The 36-hour marathon event is a feast for the eye and the ear, unfolding between 6. a.m. and 12 noon the nest day. Different from the usual temple festival. Thrissur Pooram witnesses people from all religions and caste. This is explained by the genesis of the festival.

Peechi Vazhayani Wild Sanctuary - 40 Kms
Is in the catchments area of Peechi Dam - Bottanical Garden, Swimming pool. Having an abundance of enchanting flora and fauna and a lake where you can go boating, this place is a treat for the nature lover. There are more than 50 different kinds of orchids, innumerable rare medicinal plants, teak, rosewood and so on. The wildlife population includes over 25 types of mammals including carnivores like the leopard, the tiger and the fox and herbivores like the elk, deer, barking deer, stooped beer, the bison and the elephant. More than 60 types of birds and 10 types of snakes are also found here. The highest peak in the sanctuary is the 923 m high Poumudi. The average annual rainfall here is about 30,000 mm
